Margarita Raymundo was quickly deported from the U.S. to Guatemala after being arrested by a Border Patrol agent. She was one of 64 migrants sent back on a U.S. Air Force cargo jet just days after her arrest. This fast deportation was possible because the Trump administration had the military help speed up the process, which usually involves chartered flights.
In the first week of President Trump's second term, the U.S. deported about 7,300 people from various countries.
Raymundo was caught just five minutes away
from where a vehicle was waiting to take her further into the U.S. The Border Patrol agent told her her deportation would happen quickly and warned her that if she was caught again, she would face five years in prison.
